SAVE TARA!

The Hill of Tara constitutes the heart and Soul of Ireland. Its very name invokes the spirit and mystique of our people and is instantly recognisable worldwide.

The plan approved recently by An Bord Pleanála for the M3 motorway to dissect the Tara-Skryne valley, Ireland's premier national monument, spells out a massive national and international tragedy that must be averted.

DEBT RELIEF AND AIDS ERADICATION IN AFRICA

The Irish-American Caucus voted at its July, 2007 meeting to support the work of DATA, an advocacy organization dedicated to eradicating extreme poverty and AIDS in Africa.

Founded by U2 lead singer Bono, Bobby Shriver and activists from the Jubilee "Drop the Debt" campaign in 2002, DATA calls on the governments of the world's wealthiest nations to keep their existing commitments to Africa and adopt new trade and aid policies that will help Africans put themselves on the path to long-term prosperity and stability.

Our Irish traditions and customs inform us of our obligation to help the stranger in need at the door.  Of course, sometimes the stranger can't make it to the door and we must go to them.

Please help support the work of DATA by making a contribution today.  Visit their website at:
